With the Dynamic Search module you get search results while you type.
When a user starts typing in the search input box, the module will search in products titles and
will display the results, the products small thumbnail, the product title.
By clicking on the text the autocompleter will fill the search input box or if enabled, redirect to the product details page.
- Results are shown as you type
- Results narrow as you continue typing
- Clickable links in search results, can be enabled/disabled
- Enable/disable the products mini thumbnail
- Enable/disable the image previewer on mouse over
- Enable/disable the adanced search button
- Limit the number of products in drop down list (search results)
- Search in any word in the product title
- Ability to setup in admin panel to search for the exact phrase, or all/any entered word, or let the user to select
- Highlighted text in results
- Ability to display the product code beside the product name
- Setup the minimum entered characters to start searching (to prevent mySQl overloading)
Dynamic Search was tested with Cs-Cart v.2.0.6 - v.2.0.12.

Oustanding! CS Cart's search code has been a nightmare for us - this is a total breath of fresh air and can only increase our conversion rate
** Feature request: can you add an option to disable the advanced search? we used the code:
{if $addons.wg_search.status == 'A'}
{include file="addons/wg_search/search.tpl" hide_advanced_search=true}
{else}
{include file="common_templates/search.tpl" hide_advanced_search=true}
{/if}
to resolve but would be a neat little extra for future releases

Excellent mod to the standard cs cart search feature. This is a must for any site carrying a larger qty of products.

Added the auto fill blocking for browsers.

anything else you need to suppress such history of the browsers somehow. Otherwise it impedes the user. Try it for example with FF. Search "adidas" then close the window and go agaon to the startpage, search again "adidas" and the browser wil show you the complete history with the letters a d i d a s

Maybe in the future, when cs-cart developers will finish with the weekly updates and bug paradises, we will rewrite the standard search engine in cs-cart.

Yes, ok. But User must cklick twice a time to search.
And i think it would be better if the module search also in the search words for each product, that make sense!

Excellent but please consider this:
1. an option to have it immediately go to the chosen option is a must.
2. when using for example Chrome, Chrome shows a list of what has been typed in previously (like to search history). these options sit on top of your search results list, very annoying as I cannot read your top search results because they are 'covered up' by the browser's list. not sure how to get around that.
